"Once more, O Lord!"
The Great Physician
Published in Hardcover by Fleming H Revell Co (August, 1982)
Average review score:

Best book I have ever read.Morgan shows how Christ's approach to the approx. 50 characters in the New Testament is universal and individualized. Universal in that Christ knew how to approach human nature. Individualized in that He confronted each person with an approach taylored to their character and personality, in order to introduce them to a personal relationship with God. Conclucision: If I can see how Christ approached individuals, I can approach the same personalities in the same way, and introduce them to the same Jesus

Greek Lyric: Anacreon, Anacreontea, Choral Lyric from Olympis to Alcman (Loeb Classical Library, No 143)
Published in Hardcover by Harvard Univ Pr (December, 1989)

Anacreon makes it more than worthwile.Anacreon lived in the sixth century B.C. His poems are about wine, love and getting old. They are easy to read thanks to his humour, vivid expressions and originality. For hundreds of years after the dead of Anacreon there were a lot of anonymous imitators who wrote poems called the Anacreontea. They also had a lot of success in their time.
One of the best poems of Anacreon tells how one night, when a storm raged outside, Eros knocks at the door of Anacreon, saying he's only a poor child lost in the tempest. Anacreon who feels pity for Eros, lets him in. They sit down at the fireplace. After a while Eros feels better again, takes his bow-saying he wants to check it-and shoots an arrow in the hart of Anacreon. Eros laughs and says: have courage! My bow is fine but I fear you will be in love again soon!
It would be more than worthwile to buy this book only for Anacreon and the Anacreontea.

I love books!Man, this book is awesome! P.C. Gwinn has done it again! (it's also nice to Charna Halpern putting pen to paper once again, even if it is only one chapter) I like the chapter about the clapping. Everyone, everywhere, regardless of improv skill or interest, should read this book! I took it into my office and one guy was like, "What's that? Some kind of book?" I said 'Yes sir! It's some kind of book!' Do yourself a favor and order it now!

Guide for Planning a Learning Expedition
Published in Paperback by Kendall/Hunt Publishing Company (05 June, 1998)
Average review score:

Outstanding tool for teacher planning. As a veteran teacher, I feel fortunate to have this book in my possession. It provides the best form for planning good units that I have ever seen. Both well-explained and supplied with excellent and varied examples showing best practices, this book is definitely worth your while if you are an educator. The explanation of how to use the format, the examples of strong units, and the form itself are easy to understand and very stimulating. Honestly, after reading the book for about two hours, I brainstormed three great math units in about 3 hours, coming up with a much more interesting and comprehensive approach to the units than I would have otherwise.

Unique source for info on Florida mango industry & varietiesEdited by some of Florida's leading mango experts, this book offers detailed descriptions, with full-page color photographs, of 80 varieties of mangos grown in Florida. Mango enthusiasts will find the book invaluable in deciding which cultivars to grow. Mangophiles will also be fascinated by the historical information on the mango industry and on important mango varieties. One caveat: the book does not attempt to give detailed information on how to grow mangos, or how to recognize and deal with the diseases and pests that may affect mango trees.

Guide to the World of JelliesThis book,as small as it is, is a "giant" of information and beautiful pictures of a life form that is little known to us. The variety of jellies examined here is the tip of the "jelly iceberg"...a wonderful introduction to the amazing world of invertebrates.

Hands on Vb5 for Web Development
Published in Paperback by Premier Press (June, 1997)
Average review score:

Great book for the beginnerI ordered this book expecting a lot of computer jargon that I would not understand. I am new to programming and this book really helped me learn a few things about VB5 and web development. The instructions were very informative and really explained how everything works. There were lessons to follow that made everything easier for me. The CD that comes with the book was very helpful and made the location of the code in the book easily accessible for reference. I would recommend this book to anyone learning VB5 and web development.

Good Things to Know . . . About Gliding on Snow
Published in Paperback by Mountain Sports Press (30 September, 2000)

Handbook of the Normal Distribution (Statistics: Textbooks and Monographs, Vol 150)
Published in Hardcover by Marcel Dekker (16 January, 1996)
This small quotation perfectly sums up this account of the Welsh Revival of 1904-05. Mains is assuming that if you have picked up this book you have done so because of your dissatisfaction with your spiritual life. I know that this is the reason I bought the book.
Writing to the Corinthian Church about Israel, Paul said that "these things were given to us for examples;" this is why Christians should read this book. Because it shows what the Spirit of G-d longs to do in His people.
Through each page I can feel the Holy Spirit searching my hear for all that does not please Him; at times I feel like the moth, which is both attracted to and repelled by the flame. Holiness has this effect on me.
This is a book that has to be experienced to be understood. Mains adjures the reader to "Proceed at your own risk," and rightfully so because how could any spiritually-minded person read what the Lord did during this revival and then go back to the stale walk you had with Him prior to reading this book. I can honestly say that this little book has put me mightily under conviction and, like King David said in the Psalms, "I shall be satisfied when I awake with Thy likeness."
